AFSO — The Kerry Hotel — 香港

The Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong is the latest and most stylish addition to the city’s renowned Victoria Harbour, and the first hotel in 20 years to be built on the Kowloon waterfront. With interiors designed by the renowned architect Andre Fu, this sixteen storey hotel has been designed as an ‘urban resort’, seeking to evoke an experience of relaxed luxury in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. In order to create a hotel that will serve the needs of both the business and leisure traveller, Fu has sought to bring together the outdoor landscape with the fluid architecture of the interior.

As the architect behind major luxury hotels like The Upper House in Hong Kong, Villa La Coste in Provence, Singapore’s Fullerton Bay Hotel, and the Opus Suite at the Berkeley London, André Fu has become one of the world’s most sought-after designers. Brought up in the East and educated in Europe, Fu founded his design studio AFSO in 2000 to create distinctive projects for select clients, and AFSO is now recognized for its work in sensuous, unique hospitality venues. AFSO’s distinctive approach to interior architecture combines the rigorous pursuit of new Asian sensitivities, with clarity in space planning and keen attention to details of everyday life. Its spaces are created to evoke emotion, to inspire and indulge. Drawing from historical references, AFSO reinterprets traditional ideas using André Fu’s unique and playful interpretation.
