Pool & Marianela made international headlines for their 2016 exhibition, Barbie: The Plastic Religion, as photos of the duo presenting one of their customized Barbie sculptures to Pope Francis went viral. With their latest concept, Kidstianism, they have continued to explore the intersection of religion and commerce, expanding beyond Barbie into all manner of beloved toy linesfrom Carebears to Thundercats. But the centerpiece of their opening reception will be a lifesize, edible Christ cake which will be selling by the slice! First come, first served!
