Nagoya Notebook is a project that started during Anna's residency in Japan. The meeting with the Japanese culture - from greeting rituals and linguistic misunderstanding of Zen Buddhist philosophy of everyday phenomena such as flower arrangments and tea drinking – is the central focus. Nagoya Notebook can be likened to a fictional notebook where different people, fictional and real, are merged into a single self. Here Anna wove her own photographs and texts together with photographs found at a flea market. Some of the images are presented as sculptural objects and installations that spins on and reflect what is happening in the pictures.
