Soloway is pleased to present Speak Nearby, a three-person exhibition featuring work by Ragnheiður Gestsdóttir, Theresa Himmer, and Emily Weiner. Working with distinct methods of appropriation, these artists playfully draw on established domains such as anthropology, history, physics, semiotics, and philosophy. Through film, painting, photography, and installation, the three artists contest the insidious cycle of hollow imitation, attempting to evoke new readings as they render the familiar strange and new again.
