CLOUD designed by Quentin de Coster — 比利時 列日

For the Brussels Design September Festival, Greta Halfin and Kunty Moureau have invited Quentin de Coster to design an installation on the theme of luxury in limited edition. CLOUD is a work on light and particularly on reflection. Made up of four hundred ninetythree hanging steel petals and a fluorescent tube, this unique installation models the fragmentation of a lampshade, which normally is used to soften or guide light flow. Each high precision laser cut steel ellipse randomly mitigates and reflects the light coming from the tube. Sensitive to air flow as well, these hundreds of petals gently rotate depending on their environment. The whole forms a large cloud in perpetual motion, giving an impression of floating in the air.
