With several trillion photos now in circulation, what do all the endless selfies, profane profile pics, and pathetic Face Swaps really say about our identities? Pictoplasma challenges young, emerging artists aged 18-24 to truly express their personality with a self-portrait that lets their real character shine. Start with a regular photo, like a headshot, passport or profile picture, of yourself facing the camera. Next, create your character by overlaying it with an artistic rendition of your identity.

The challenge opens 15 JUN an ends 15 AUG — be sure to submit early — the first 100 participants are eligible to win one of 10 free year-long Creative Cloud subscriptions, donated by Adobe. 5 winners will be awarded with a full-blown Character Design Fellowship, including travel costs and participation at the Pictoplasma Academy masterclass in Mexico City OCT 2017, six-months of online mentoring, and attendance at the Pictoplasma Berlin Conference May 2018 — including the opportunity to exhibit in an exclusive group show.
